The LUU Intro Site is launched!

Today is 'A-Day' for many students all around the country as students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland receive their A-level and AS-level exam grades.

In time for A-Level results day, as students eagerly (or not so eagerly!) receive their results, we launch this year's LUU Intro website! We have put together this website to give students, planning on coming to Leeds (undergraduate, postgraduate, part-time, mature, everybody!), load of information they might want to know about starting life at the University of Leeds.

Starting university is a pretty big deal and we want to make new students' first few weeks here to be one of their most memorable and fun experiences ever. Leeds University Union is one of the biggest and best students' unions in the country and we offer loads of great shops and bars, helpful advice services, activities for students to get involved in and host some of the best club nights and gigs in Leeds; we are the most vibrant part of campus life.

Intro is what we, here at LUU, call the first few weeks of term; it is more commonly know amongst other students' unions as Freshers! Over Intro, we have a fab line-up of events and activities planned for you. It is the busiest but most vibrant and fun time of the year. We hope you are looking forward to it as much as we are!

On this Intro site you will find: information about LUU, tips and advice, Intro events listing, useful contacts, links to LUU Facebook groups, and much more. So, have a look around and get a feel for your union...

LUU strikes gold!

Leeds University Union (LUU) is extremely proud of being the first students' union in the country to be successful in obtaining a Gold SUEI (Student Union Evaluation Initiative) award, the highest award possible for students' unions!

The SUEI assessment process is designed to help students' unions improve their services and activities through continuous improvement. It covers all aspects of work from democracy and governance to financial management and communication. This is an outstanding achievement for LUU and recognises the hard work of its dedicated staff.

Antonia Frezza, HR Manager, who is leading on the SUEI project said "LUU is delighted to have achieved this accreditation which recognises the excellent work that is done throughout the organisation in meeting the needs of our student members. LUU strives to be the most effective students' union in the country and we feel that this award brings us closer to this aim."
